What can Mohave County require of a project?

Arizona has no state siting permit for solar, wind, or battery plants and no state decommissioning law, so Mohave County's own zoning sets most of the rules; a transmission line of 115 kV or more needs a state certificate (state rules).

County rules and recent actions: The county zoning ordinance has an Energy overlay zone and a section on energy projects (Section 37.U). Supervisors have voted 3–2 for a 240-day moratorium on renewable energy overlay rezonings. (Mohave County zoning ordinance (PDF); Kingman Daily Miner)
